Chill

Do you like to relax in a good armchair? Read a good book? Admire works of art? Or play pinball? Well, the BIFFF has answered your wildest dreams with its CHILL area! Not only can you enjoy this space and the books on offer free of charge, but you can also buy furniture from our friends TROC as well as works of art by H. Arthur H. and Hÿrond’Hell that might have caught your eye between two games of customised pinball!

Hÿrond'Hell & Camperman

Coming from different backgrounds, Hÿrond’Hell and Camperman are two multi-disciplinary artists who have arrived with their respective textile creations, using wool as their preferred medium via the tufting technique, which offers great freedom in terms of graphics and texture.
Having both explored the world of multi-disciplinary visual art over the last few years, they are continuing their journey here with creations that are a little different from their usual fare.

The idea is to present different works in the form of carpets, sometimes presented as a canvas hung on the wall, sometimes simply on the floor.
You’ll find references to nanar movies, geek culture, punk music, cinema posters, fantasy worlds, etc.
We hope to inspire you to get out of bed every morning and put your bare panties down on our carpets… Who knows…

Winner Art Contest Michelle Tulpinck

As a multidisciplinary artist, my work is inspired by themes of identity, hybridity and fantasy. My work explores areas where utopia, science fiction, myths and legends come together, while questioning the role of humans in massive and complex environments. Using a variety of media such as painting, sculpture and installation, I seek to convey visual narratives that confront the viewer with existential and societal questions.

For BIFFF 2025, I’m presenting an original series of five canvases centred on the metro, a hybrid space par excellence, at the crossroads of the intimate and the collective, the real and the symbolic. Each canvas plunges into a fantastic vision of the metro, transforming this everyday place into a universe where light and darkness, dreams and nightmares intersect.

Through dense textures and contrasting colours, these works explore the metro as a microcosm of urban identity, a space of transit where the anonymous become mythical silhouettes and the architecture becomes charged with human emotion. Inspired by the sounds, movements and social dynamics specific to this place, this work invites us to rethink the metro not just as a functional space, but as a theatre where countless scenes are played out.

H. Arthur H.: Le savoir fout le camp...

H. Arthur H. describes himself as a passionate multidisciplinary artist, always looking for new ways and things. He trained at Woluwe-Saint-Pierre’s Art Academy in comics, engraving, architecture, interior design, industrial design and art history. A graduate in drawing at the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he considers himself a self-taught artist in spirit. Driven by a deep yearning for learning, Arthur H. has developed his own techniques and has explored a variety of mediums in order to bring his unique world to life.

If you’re familiar with the BIFFF, you have doubtlessly crossed his path before: as a make-up artist, perhaps, or as the creator of magical creatures through bodypainting. Maybe it was through the KIFFF, the Kino workshop that produces films in under 48 hours. You will, however, not have seen him sitting in a dark theatre, as horror flicks aren’t his thing at all!

This exhibition is an open invitation to discover part of his universe: paintings, sculptures and especially installations mixing multiple techniques that reflect his eclectic artistic approach. H. Arthur H is a jack-of-all-trades… well, almost all of them! Because, as he likes to remind us with a touch of humour, dancing and singing are not his strong points.

The goal of his art is not to disrupt or to shock, but it is marked by a soft magic emanating from it. Staying far from militant commitments or a strong messages, he infuses his work with small sparks, each one a shelter against the vicissitudes of life and an oppressive patriarchy. Behind the banner of beauty, H. Arthur H. discreetly crosses our world, leaving indelible marks on our hearts and spirits.
And then sometimes he focuses on a grander scale, leading his team to execute scenographies for immersive exhibitions. You may have already admired his work without knowing, visiting immersive exhibitions at the Horta gallery, featuring Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt, and, most recently, Magritte
