Crazy Japan

📍 VILLAGE — 💸 Free except for MOVIES (like most events!)

Over the past five editions, Japanese cinema has swept up no fewer than six awards at the BIFFF! A real heist, with films that are completely off-the-wall and innovative! Do you really think they’re going to stop now? Of course not… For this 44th edition, they’re bringing us two films that fuse genres, even if it means wreaking havoc on the cinematic multiverse (YOU ARE THE FILM), and human pyramids formed by hundreds of middle schoolers to conform to social norms (NEW GROUP).

And since they haven’t mellowed, we’ve decided to go with the flow and take things to the extreme: origami, sake tastings, a photo exhibition, and a kimono fashion show—in short, a concentrated dose of Japanese madness organized in collaboration with Francesco Serafini of the Beyond Japan Film Festival!
