Aslan is a sturdy cop who spends his days in a provincial backwater, lost in the endless Kazakh steppe. He’s surrounded by boorishness, toxic masculinity, and corruption that drags his spirit down. And yet Aslan carries on, the bags under his eyes growing heavier by the day. When his daughter is picked up off the street during a rare visit to her father to serve as the pièce de résistance during an orgy of local overlords, the bomb explodes. Daddy immediately unleashes a one-man war against the culprits, which takes place in Police HQ no less. Fortunately, the building is being renovated and there’s more than enough material around for Aslan in his epic battle against the heavily armed security forces. A movie that hits like a sledge hammer!
