Ever stumbled into a room filled with serial killers that, together, are responsible for 12% of North America’s annual murder rate? Until tonight, Joel hadn’t either but y’know, life is like a box of chocolates. He’s just your average Joel, a slightly over-enthusiastic horror film buff – aren’t we all? – who, in the year of the Lord 1983, is quietly head over heels for his roommate Sarah. He decides to follow her flavor-of-the-week Bob to a hipster Asian bar in Minnesota. His mission: finding dirt on the guy. But all he ends up doing is getting hammered and puking all over the hallway halfway on his way out… Only to pass out and wake up in the middle of a self-help support group for serial killers. He tries to blend in using his extensive knowledge of the horror genre, but it doesn’t take long until the others are onto him. Vicious fun ensues… True, Tarantino gets thrown around far too often, but here it actually makes sense. When Joel teams up with Carrie, a feminist avenger with a personal vendetta against all macho sadistic killers, we’re in for a KILL BILL set in a neon-drenched 80’s slasher! If that doesn’t do it for you, we don’t know what to say…
