Welcome to Babel, a Columbian neon-lit salsa nightclub that doubles as a psychedelic Purgatory, where La Flaca – a gypsy Grim Reaper with an Afro – hangs out all night gambling with unlucky souls for their lives. If they lose, off they go into the Underworld… which is exactly where Timbí, the club owner’s son, is heading. He’s looking for a missing musician who’s supposed to play at Babel before midnight or else a couple of nasty loansharks are having a ball with his daddy-o. Luckily, Uma – the spitting image of Xena the Warrior Princess – comes along for the ride. She knows her way around Hell – which looks like a tropical queer version of a Mario Bava set, if he’d have been into BDSM – and she has business of her own to settle with La Flaca…
