Extra Info

Settled in her airplane seat, Ava wonders why she has such bad karma in life. Then again, here she is on her way to some far-away tropical paradise alongside her dreamy boyfriend Jed, with the promise of daiquiris on the hot sand of pearl white beach already on the cusp of her lips… Until some damn kamikaze seagull decides to fly straight into one of the propellers and one of the fuselage frames breaks off, sucking passengers left and right into the void like Tony Montana does to a line of coke. Moments later, the plane crashes headfirst into the sea and sinks to the bottom. Yes, why does she have such bad karma? She’s trapped in an air pocket with the other survivors underneath the surface. But they won’t be alone for long, as the blood seeping from the plane wreck will soon attract a couple of visitors, of the long-teethed, Great White type…

Yup, NO WAY UP checks quite a few phobia boxes: airplanes, abysses, closed spaces, drowning and ill-tempered creatures of the deep that’ll surely keep your heart rate up! This is a fine specimen of pure, unfiltered exploitation cinema with the smell of popcorn in its nostrils and bloodshot eyes. Written by the producer of GUNS AKIMBO and BIG GAME (yes, that’s called a man of class and taste).
