Vintage watches can be worth fortunes, especially when we’re talking about a trio of timepieces that were once owned by Pablo Picasso. And there’s the fabled first moon watch, worn by Buzz Aldrin (because apparently Neil Armstrong left his on the Moon). Uncle is running a stolen goods company in Hong Kong specialized in watches. The name conjures up the image of a gentlemanly older gangster, but we’re talking about the son here, who has inherited dad’s business and nickname and who doesn’t shy away from a few corpses to get the deal done. One of his clients is eager to add the Picasso-set to his collection, so Uncle puts together a dream team: his trusted lieutenant Chief, explosive virtuoso Mario and two rookies, replica expert Vincent and safecracker Yoh. Together they’re to steal the watches from an impenetrable safe – which also holds the moon watch – of a luxury dealer in Tokyo and replace them with near identical replicas. A near impossible feat that a bunch of polar opposites, each with their own agenda, has to pull off? What could possibly go wrong? OCEAN’S ELEVEN, Hong Kong-style with all the heist genre’s elements working together like clockwork (har har!): an elaborate planning, tension arising in the group, unexpected bumps along the road, a burglary that puts you on the edge of your seat… Starring Edan Lui, Anson Lo and Keung To, aka the members of the immensely popular boysband Mirror!
A nearly impossible heist of a set of invaluable watches by a team of opposites each with their own agenda. What could possibly go wrong?!
