Like any self-respecting teenager, Sasha rebels against the wishes of her parents. They want her, as a young vampire, to spread out her bat wings and start killing mortals to feed herself. But ever since her birth, she has hated all the bloodshed of innocent souls and up until now her parents have always accepted that, albeit reluctantly. They’d go hunting in her stead and brought back neatly wrapped bags of hemoglobin, which Sasha would gobble down like Capri Suns. Now she thinks that’s hypocritical, so she decides to get out into the night herself in search of a willing victim. Which she finds in the person of Paul, a suicidal teen that was just about to jump off the roof of a bowling alley. He’s OK with her sinking her teeth into him but he has one last wish. On his last night he’d like to get revenge on the bullies that have made his life miserable. And what better way to do so then by bringing along a badass vampire?
In a genre that nowadays often suffers from anemia, an injection of fresh blood like this is a blessing! Ariane Louis-Seize’s debut feature has already won over many hearts and many festivals – such as our friends at the PIFFF, where it won the first prize – with its feel-good gothic teenage rom-com swagger set in the stylishly neon-lit Montreal nights. With a heart-stopping turn by lead actress Sara Monpetit (FALCON LAKE).
