Thirtysomething Joel has to return to his hometown to help his mother Monika. After suffering a heart attack, during which she was clinically dead for several minutes, she must now move to a retirement home to get the necessary care. However, Joel’s relief is short-lived. Shortly after her arrival, Monika begins acting strangely. Joel and Nina, his former best friend and Monika’s caregiver at the home, try to help her. But they are confronted by pure evil.
