Jeong Sang-woo takes the Korean literary scene by storm with a novel about a kidnapping. After a signing session, he is fatally shot in his villa. Upon arrival, the police find Min-joo, who immediately confesses. She claims that the novel is based on her own kidnapping that happened 20 years ago. She refuses to talk to anyone but one particular Seoul police woman. Pretty quickly we realize both women go way back and that, of course, this ain’t no simple murder case. And that the plot is going to twist and turn more ferociously than a snail that has inadvertently fallen into a bucket of salt.
