In 2008 werd hij genomineerd voor Beste Niet-geproduceerde Scenario bij de Inside Film Awards. Zijn speelfilm RED LIGHT REVOLUTION uit 2010 won de publieksprijs op het Singapore International Film Festival. Zijn volgende film, KING OF PEKING, ging in wereldpremi\u00e8re op Tribeca en werd op veel festivals vertoond. De film werd uitgebracht op Netflix, oogstte wereldwijd goede kritieken, en het scenario werd opgenomen in de AMPAS-bibliotheek.
