The Pieter Pauwel art gallery houses a great selection of artists as well as works of art going from the painting to the sculpture passing by the ceramic, while featuring installations by Belgian and foreign artists, whose some are world-renowned. The Pieter Pauwel gallery is not only limited to the promotion of the artistic works but is also specialised, on the first hand, in interior and exterior decoration, named “Pieter Pauwel Decoration”, and on the other hand, there is “Pieter Pauwel Incentives” which suggests any kind of gifts going from the simplest to the most extravagant. Pieter Pauwel has also extended his activities to the organisation of events marking the junc-tion between fine arts and lyric arts, named “Pieter Pauwel Meeting”.
In Pieter Pauwel Gallery different art forms meet each other; you will have the occasion to discover :

An ungoing art project by Raf Veulemans and Miraschi
In 2012 artists Raf Veulemans and Miraschi decided to make there sporadic collaboration into an un-going art project. Both artists share a deep concern for the state of the world and specific the state nature is in.
The Skawager project brings the worlds of the two artists together and is sending out a strong message, making a statement, creating a consciousness and developing a conscious human.

For Saints

The artworks within the Skawager project are sometimes subtile and sometimes explicit, but never indifferent. Science, art and nature are drawn together in bio-assemblages. Paintings and etchings are added to complete the picture. Like skavangers, the artists work with dead materials. Waste isn’t waste but the start of something new.

Nuit Blanche

David De Graef’s new art book in world premiere at BIFFF !
White night, this paradoxical expression, summarizes so well David De Graef’s imagination: to conciliate polarities. He melts together opposites like black and white, love and dead, belief and heresy. “Polarity”, so sais the dictionary, “means two extremities of one energy”. Like an alchemist, David De Graef intertwines light and dark, desire and fear, virtue and sin. David’s paintings inspire you to polarity. They harvest fascination and aversion, disturb the mind and move our heart. This pictorial philosopher translates emotions and reason in his paintings, inviting us to reflection and meditation.

This painter, who rather bothers than put in order, invites you to the depths of an obsessing world where no moral value is absolute. His sharp sight on our institutions and emotions catches you in a universe where reflection faces fear. In his visionary universe David De Graef paints both tenderness and violence. This autodidact melts power and finesse to reflect our joy and unease. He confronts contrasts to offer scenes of loss and resurrection. The phantasms of the artist sketch mankind’s walk through love and hate, belief and lie, hope and fear. This pencil narrator draws inspiration from physical and mental decay, always put in perspective by a certain optimism and sense of humor.
Through his painter’s eye, David De Graef develops a pictorial philosophy, which escapes from each rational explanation or narrow classification.
